Quad seal bags, also known as stabilo bags, can take all structures from a simple monolayer of PE to laminates including PET, LLDPE, LDPE, MDPE, HDPE, OPA, SiOX, AlOX, PP, OPP, CPP, MPP. These products are retailer friendly and you will have had experience of these already in the home.
Unlike many of the other products on the list, the quad seal bag was not entered into the market as simply a cost saver competing with more rigid packs. It was actually a bag evolved from the pillow and gusseted bag environment.
The 4 corner seals increase the products’ structural integrity and reduces the likelihood of any breakage or creasing on pack. As the majority of these bags are formed using a laminate structure, usually with a high quality, all-over print, the crease prevention enables a marketing message to be seen clearly on shelf.
The quad seals also maintain the cuboid nature of the pack for ease of palletisation and transport after filling.A further evolution of this bag is known as the ‘single lip’ and is demonstrated in the images below. In essence, at the top of the bag the four seals become two to create a more imposing looking bag on shelf.
The benefits of the single lip are more consumer related, as the pack maintains its ability to stand up when the product inside is being used. From a branding point of view, this also enable the bag to always be delivering any marketing on pack to anyone looking at it.
Filling these bags is very easy and minimal investment in a sealing bar (less than £100) or a bag stitcher (less than £500) can start you packing straight away! We can help you find a packer if required, which is recommended for all food grade and liquid products.
